Renowned Sport Psychologist Dr. Jenny R. Susser to address USDF Dressage Teams at NAJYRC

          Lexington, KY (July 23, 2010) - Through the generosity of The Davis Family and Olympian, Lendon Gray, the United States Dressage Federation is pleased to have the opportunity to host two educational sessions with Sport Psychologist, Dr. Jenny R. Susser, Ph.D., during the 2010 USDF/Platinum Performance North American Junior/Young Rider Dressage Championships at the Adequan FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North.
          A former competitive international athlete, Dr. Susser holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Health Psychology and specializes in Sport Psychology. She was a four-year All-American swimmer and then assistant coach at UCLA, swam on two national teams, and at the 1988 Olympic Trials. Dr. Susser has worked with athletes of all sports and ages including, Division I Collegiate Teams, professional, international and Olympic.
          The first session geared toward junior and young riders will take place on Thursday, July 29 at 4:30 P.M. All teams along with their parents, coaches and Chefs d'Equipe are encouraged to attend. The NAJYRC "Town Hall" meeting hosted by Platinum Performance will begin after the education session and will include refreshments. The second session is for coaches and trainers and will be held on Friday July 30 at 4:30 P.M. Both sessions will take place at the USDF office in the Grand Prix Seminar Room.
          The NAJYRC is the premier equestrian competition in North America for Junior and Young Riders, age 14-21. Teams are invited from the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean to compete for team and individual medals in the three Olympic equestrian disciplines of show jumping, dressage, eventing and the World Equestrian Games discipline of reining.
            Dr. Susser will also present a USDF University Education Session during the 2010 Adequan/USDF Annual Convention.  Her presentation will be on Friday, December 3.  For more information on the 2010 Adequan/USDF National Convention Symosium, please visit www.usdf.org.
