Dressage Teams Announced for 2022 North American Youth Championships
Lexington, KY (July 25, 2022) -
The United States Dressage Federation™ (USDF) is pleased to announce the riders
that will represent the United States in the North American Youth Championships
(NAYC) for dressage. The championships will be held August 9-14, at Great Lakes
Equestrian Festival (GLEF), in Traverse City, MI. A total of 45 youth, age
14-21, from across the country, will compete. Young equestrians vie for team
and individual medals in the three Olympic equestrian disciplines of show
jumping, dressage, and eventing. The competition is run under rules of the FEI
(Federation Equestre Internationale), the international governing body for
equestrian sport, and is the only FEI championship held annually on this
continent.
“While many of the challenges of
2021 are behind us; there were none the less, many challenges that our 2022
juniors and young riders had to face in order to qualify for their region's
team for this year's NAYC. They all rose to the occasion and their hard work
has paid off. I am looking forward to returning to see our friends at Horse
Shows By The Bay, at the incredibly beautiful venue of Flintfields Horse Park
in Traverse City, Michigan to watch these fine young athletes represent their
country in competition,” said Roberta Williams, USDF FEI Youth Committee
Chair.
